Cookies

Format: 35mm short narrative film (1999). Length: 20 minutes.

A woman is desperately trying to give away cookies "baked with love" on a New York City street. Two men look on — one a trendy shop assistant, the other a rough construction worker. What will they do with the fallen cookie left after the woman has been taken away by the police? A disquieting comedy of mannerisms and competing gazes, Cookies examines the lines that separate — and occasionally connect — people in a busy metropolis.

Written and directed by Tod Lippy. Starring Betty Jinnette, Mina Badie, Jim Thalman, Clayton Patterson, and Scott Nicholson. Cinematography by Tim Naylor. Produced by Lee Ann Hileman and Christopher Trela. Edited by Michael LaHaie. Music by Michael Rohatyn.
