“Good Start” was the lead single from my first album, Here We Are, released on October 29, 2019. It was also the first music video I ever made. The title and the lyrics sprung directly from a saying of my grandfather’s (and that my father, in turn, often said to me when I was a young boy) I loved the simplicity of that sentiment and tried to evoke its economy both lyrically and musically to create a song about the transience of life. “Good Start” was chosen by the Los Angeles radio station KCRW for one of its coveted “Today’s Top Tune” slots on Monday, September 2, 2019 (Labor Day, which seemed fitting).
