In the summer of 2024, I crossed digital paths with the Manchester, UK–based sound artist, musician, and composer Owain Kelly while we were both involved in a mutual friend's film project. I was a fan of Owain's former band, NO CEREMONY///, and after a few backs and forths the two of us decided to create some music together. Over the course of a year or so, we ended up collaborating on 10 tracks, working only through WhatsApp exchanges, file-sharing apps, and emails. We've never met in person and never plan to: The distance between us — and the intrusive and sometimes terrifying marvels of digital connectivity we use to navigate it — are central to our collaborative process and to the final product. Our first album will be released on 9/25/26.
