Full-length album, 10 songs. Release date: October 29, 2019

My first album, Here We Are, was released on October 29, 2019. I spent the better part of a decade working on the album, creating rough mixes for 30 or so tracks (10 of which ended up on the LP) on my laptop in between issues of Esopus and other projects. In the spring of 2019, I sent a group of these demos to Luna front man Dean Wareham, who put me in touch with Kramer, the producer and musician renowned for his work on the seminal first albums of Wareham’s band Galaxie 500 and Low, not to mention his collaborations with the likes of Urge Overkill, Butthole Surfers, and John Zorn. Kramer mixed the album in New York City with me in July 2019. It was an incredible education for me, and I'm still astonished by how Kramer was able to take music I made using nothing but my laptop, recording many of my vocals on its built-in mic, and make it so much better—not only through his legendary mixing and mastering skills, but by adding instrumentation (the organ intro on “Remember Your Doctor,” for instance) or just foregrounding elements I had hidden under layers of other tracks.
