“Bob,” a track from the Midterms EP, is a (very) short song meant to evoke the misery felt by someone who has made a bad mistake. When I decided to do a music video, I reached out to the director Brian Padian (creator of, among other things, the Amazon series Microaggressions). After some back-and-forth, Brian proposed reworking some black-and-white footage he’d shot for a project in film school, and the result—mysterious and creepy—was a perfect accompaniment to the song.
