Year Up is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to close the “opportunity divide” by ensuring that young adults from all backgrounds gain the skills, experiences, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education. I was thrilled to be able to speak to a group of students at Year Up’s New York headquarters, and was so impressed with their engagement and enthusuiasm that I ended up serving as a mentor for several students in the ensuing years.
