“In Process” was a series of conversations with creative professionals I presented over the course of a year at Soho House and Dumbo House in New York City. Its goal was to offer insight into the creative process of individuals working in a wide range of disciplines. For this installment, I spoke with interior designer Fernando Santangelo—who is perhaps best known for his brilliant redesign of Chateau Marmont for André Balasz in the 1990s—about his collaborations with private clients like Bette Midler and Proenza Schouler, as well as his groundbreaking work for clubs (Fez, M.K.), restaurants, and hotels (The Raleigh, Miami; McCarren Hotel and Pool, Brooklyn; Harmony Hotel, Costa Rica).
